In Memory

I lost one of my best friends today. My companion, my running partner, my playmate. She truly was my very best friend. She was always there to greet you at the door. She was always there to cheer you up when you need that extra push to go on. I couldn't have asked for a more loyal friend.

I can still remember they day we got her. We walked into the Human Society, not really in search of a new pet, but we saw her. Shannon was the name they had on the kennel. She was the only dog that wasn't jumping up in down or barking at the top of her lungs. She just sat there and looked at us. There was an immediate connection.

We named her Molly and she became part of the family.

She had been in and out of the vet the last week with a leg issue. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. We woke up with morning and she was not longer with us. She went peacefully.

I am going to miss you, Molly. I can't imagine what life would have been like not having you part of it.

Paris in Spring Time and Extension

I had the most amazing time in Paris. I don't know if it is possible to have a bad experience in such a wonderful city. We saw so much art and history. It was truly amazing and inspiring. I enjoyed the city so much, I have decided to study there. I have chose to go to grad school in Paris. This summer I am beginning French courses and will continue for 2 years. I toured La Ecole des Beaux-Arts and loved it. I am going to look into more schools before I make a final decision.

I have many stories and photos to share, but I am still getting over everything. I have to sort out my life again. I am finally recovering and catching up on rest. I will go in greater depth later.

I enjoyed reading the posts and comments while my sister hijacked my blog. I think she did a pretty good job! I did know about it though. I was getting e-mail on my iPhone while I was there...so she wasn't quite as sneaky as she thought she was!

Re-the card swap: I am going to extend the deadline. I have gotten some e-mail and personally I need more time. The deadline has been moved to Friday, April 11th. The address to send them back is the return address, but if you need my address shoot me an e-mail.

It's been fun...And a WINNER!!

Giveaway time!! and photos...

So typepad hates me today!! seriously!! this is the first no wait the second it mean the third time that i have typed this!! i had better work this time!!

i found this picture of me and mitchell in my mom's stash the other day! I think it is one of the cutest pictures of us together. I am about two, so that would make mitchell about 6 months old. He may be skinny now, but he was a big baby!! The best part is that his tuxedo is actually a baby sized sweatsuit!!! too funny!!

I want to answer a few recent questions...

1. No, mitchell does not know that i am blogging for him while he is away!! :) thats what sisters are for--right?? He does not get internet in Paris, so he can read all of my posts when he gets back!! I don't think he will be mad, but if he is--he'll get over it eventually!!

2. The ATC are on their way...and should be hitting your doorstep any minute!!

3. There are absolutely NO rules to the swap!! your card can be funny, it can be inspirational, it can be serious...anything you want!! Let your imagination be your guide.I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!!

4. Today is giveaway day around here!! leave me a funny comment...a joke, a one funny story, a one liner, whatever...just something funny!! Include your name and you will be entered to will the scrap goods!! Sorry i don't have a picture--but take my word there is some pretty cool stuff in there!!

Ok...moving on. So while mitchell is away in Paris, i am watching his cat. Cat sitting if you will. Anywho...last night i hear this shattering of glass. It was SO loud!! i thought someone had broken in to the house! I get up and run to see what the commotion is all about, only to find that somehow my cat and his cat had conspired to break the plant stand!! My mom has this huge plant on a glass stand, and they managed to break the entire glass piece. It shattered everywhere... i am still finding little shards of glass!!

I think we have too many pets...this is a pic i found on mitch's computer. It is his cat inside of a flower vase!! i don't even know how he fit in there!!!

Easter is coming...and i can't wait. I love holidays and hanging out with my family!! We always have a good time. I am responsible for getting the wine...i picked up three bottles of this today...the same stuff we had on thanksgiving!!

one last picture...this is a cupcake that my friend Krista got me for my birthday crop!! It was so good!! she picked up a bunch of unique cupcakes, Peanut butter cup, Mexican hot chocolate, boston creme, and this one raspberry lemonade!!

Me again...

HI!! its me again...if you have no idea what i am talking about see the post below.

I thought it was supposed to be Spring...what's with all the snow???

In weekend news...

- Mitchell called twice. They made it to Paris, and are having tons of fun.
- I worked.
-Today it snowed...so i decided that i should stay home, and not drive an hour and a half north into more snow.
-I cleaned my room...who knew there was carpet under all that junk!!
- Started making art for my art wall.
- Got some of the art and "S" on the wall. And it actually looks pretty cool.
- Laid out my ATC for the swap
- Organized my scrap area
- Stopped at The Scrapbook Shop... bought some of the new fiskars stuff! They have so much new fiskars product!! Love it!! Also picked up the new SEI lines.

This is the only green part of my Saint Patrick's Day...

it is hard to see, but the canvas is green...

I did make it to the post office today...so the ATC's are on their way.

- Gina--send my your address, and i can send you some cards.

-Bonnie Rose--you have an extra package on the way.

i bought these tulips...i hopes that Spring is on its way.

You've Got Mail

Hi everyone!! this blog post is coming at ya from Sarah (mitch's sister)!

Mitchell is away in Paris, so I thought that I would steal his blog for a few days. Mitchell and I usually get along really well. A little history lesson on us... we are only 18 months apart. We both love to scrapbook and take photos, but personally i think he is the better at both than i am. We grew up in small town Minnesota. We like to be crazies when we get together and take our picture using photo booth. The photo on the top left is my favorite!!!

So, while Mitchell is on vacation in Europe I am in charge of the ATC swap!! I got all the cards counted out tonight, and in the envelopes. Hopefully, I will make it to the post office tomorrow...if not they will be sent out on Monday. If you see your name below, it means that i have an envelope of cards ready to sent to you.

Single of the Week

On to the card swap. I am going to officially close the registration early. We have 22 people signed up! I am anxious to see what everyone comes up with. Many of you that did sign up are waiting for cards, I am sending them out tomorrow morning! If did sign up and haven't received a confirmation e-mail, one should be coming soon. I am just about caught up. Thanks so much for signing up!

Trading Card Swap

My friend Krista participated in an artist trading card swap with a Big Picture Class. Ever since then, we have been talking about doing one locally. It never panned out and the subject sort of got dropped. Recently we started talking about it again and decided to open it up on my blog to get participants from all around.

Here's how it will work:
-Sign up by leaving a comment or e-mailing me directly by Friday, March 14th.
-Create 5 identical cards using the Heidi Swapp Trading Cards (If you do not have access to any cards, let my know when you sign up and I will mail you some).
-Once you have completed your cards, send them to me by Friday, March 28th.
-After I receive all the cards I will divide and distribute them.
If there are any questions let me know.

You are welcome to decorate the front, back, or both. It would be fun to include your name and location on the cards, too.

Impatient.

That's me. I am a self proclaimed, impatient person. After yesterday's post, I really started to think about how much I actually miss my lens. I talked it over with mother and some other friends and decided to purchase another 50mm f1.4. When mine damaged one is fixed and returned, I will sell it via Craigslist or something similar. I just didn't have the patients to wait anymore.

In lieu of the newly purchased lens, I will share some recent projects. A few local friends (Gina, Krista (who should start a blog!), Mary, Elizabeth, mom and sister) got together for a crop in celebration of my sister's 21st birthday last weekend. It was a great time and I got quite of few things check off my to-do list. Here are a couple layouts I did:

We had some 3D glasses laying around the apartment...We had some fun times with them. My roommate thinks they make me look like Buddy Holly.

Here is one of the little guy. He is not so little anymore, but still acts like a kitten.

Training for the marathon is going really well. I usually run about 3 miles, 5 times a week. I have added in two long runs a week. I started with 8 miles and will increase them each week, while I still maintain my 3 miles the other 3 days. I feel so good when I get done running. I love the endorphin high you get from working out. I shot some photos of my gear so I can scrap about my training.

I am in desparate need of a new pair of training shoes. I have way too many miles on these shoes.

I am going to have to get used to running without music. They don't allow head phones on the course. I think that might be my biggest challenge. The music really keeps me going.
